Lovecraftian Thing a Day No.342: Imagine Call of Cthulhu Special Edition

This is one from the vaults: TSR's attempt to challenge Games Workshop's monopoly on the UK tabletop gaming magazine market with the short-lived Imagine. This issue was (largely) dedicated to the Call of Cthulhu rpg, with articles about gaming in Lovecraft's worlds, a CoC scenario, and a Cthulhu Mythos tale by Brian Lumley. Whilst Imagine failed to make the grade in relation to GW's superlative White Dwarf, at least the front cover is an interesting corrective to chainmail bikini-clad amazonian warrior-women typical of much fantasy fare at the time. I'm presuming it is supposed to be a (somewhat pumped) avatar of Nyarlathotep.
